COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER DAY

In 1984, the Chamber organized the first Community Volunteer Day where all community organizations were invited to select one of their members to honor at a group brunch to which the public is invited. The Chamber continues to host this annual event every spring presenting each honoree with an official certificate and volunteer pin. As of the 28th annual Community Volunteer Day in 2011, 107 groups have participated in honoring one of their own. There have been 724 individual honored as well as a ladies auxiliary, a group, a club, a band, a fire department and a newspaper staff bringing the total to more than 4% of the county population. Volunteers are the heartblood of Morgan County and through the annual Community Volunteer Day, the Berkeley Springs - Morgan County Chamber of Commerce offers a way to thank them.
