On April 14, 1952, the "Berkeley Springs Chamber of Commerce, Inc." was officially incorporated with a powerful mission: "To advertise the advantages of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, and vicinity, as a better place in which to live and do business." Like many good things, our story hasn’t been a straight line. Just a few years after its formation, the Chamber was dissolved in 1955—citing that it was “unable to arouse the general interest in such a program and have met with little or no cooperation…”

Thankfully, that wasn’t the end of the story.
By July 31, 1958, we find handwritten meeting minutes showing the Berkeley Springs-Morgan Co Chamber of Commerce coming back to life—and we’ve been here ever since. Stronger, more connected, and more passionate about this community than ever. Over the decades, we’ve been blessed by generations of dedicated board members, resilient small businesses, community leaders, volunteers, and neighbors who have shown what real cooperation and community spirit look like. Each of you has played a role in helping us grow, evolve, and remain a vital part of this special place we call home. From ribbon cuttings to festivals, late-night meetings to early morning mixers—YOU have made this Chamber what it is today.
To everyone who’s been part of the journey: thank you.
To those just joining us: welcome.
And to that note from 1955? We think it’s safe to say… challenge accepted.
Here’s to 73 years of lifting each other up—and many more to come.
Morgan County Welcomes You!
